About Me
I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.
- Rabindranath Tagore
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing embodies what I love about solo-travel: simply being open to the hospitality of like-minded people.
I have been solo travelling for the first time around South East Asia for about 2 months now! But I've only just recently tried throwing myself to the universe more by staying at temples, trying to hitchhike places, and couchsurf where I can.
It's been an incredibly rewarding experience like no other, and I can't think of a better way to get to know people as you travel!
Interests
I love learning new perspectives and ways to think about and do things from people. That's why travel and philosophy give me such a buzz!
Exploring new places both nature and urban is the best. Nothing like walking, hiking, and/or cycling to first discover a place! I especially like urban exploration at night as well. (So if you know of any cool abandoned places, let's do it!)
When I'm getting exhausted from looking around everywhere I also like to chill at a cafe either reading a book or doing some work (which in this case is working towards my TEFL currently).

Music, Movies, and Books
The music I love is primarily rock, electro, and any mix of the two that results in something like LCD Soundsystem. Though I have been on a massive Brian Jonestown Massacre kick as of late.
I especially love to listen to podcasts, which can be informative like Dan Carlin's Hardcore History, or conversational like Ari Shaffir's Skeptic Tank.
Hard to think of my fave movie off the top of my head, but I'm always a big fan of scifi movies and tv. The last show I binged was the Good Place on Netflix.
Hands down my favourite and most influential read has been Brave New World by Alduous Huxley. It is a sci-fi text that gains more importance for me as the interaction between technology and governments grows by the year.
Just finished Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential in Thailand, and George Orwell's Burmese Days in Myanmar. Both are fascinating authors, though Bourdain more known for his memoirs.
Currently carrying around Vagabonding by Rolf Potts as my go-to inspiration. I also recommend his podcast, Deviate!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went through the Burman jungle on a 3 day trek in Hsipaw, Myanmar!
Teach, Learn, Share
Currently working on my TEFL certification as I also try to figure out other ways to remotely work so I can keep on travelling 😉
What I Can Share with Hosts
Buzzing conversation, especially about travel and philosophy! Bonus points if at a chill bar 😁
