About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a primary school teacher who works in a school in central London. I love my job, but I also love the holidays to go travel and meet new people/ hear more stories.

Before I became a teacher I worked and studied as a wildlife conservationist, a job that took me all over the world. I still love nature and despite living in a busy city, I still find time to get outdoors and enjoy nature whenever I can..

When someone suggests something my general reaction is to think about all the ways in which it's a brilliant idea.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently reading a time of gifts by Patrick Lee-Fermer and between the world and me by Ta-Nehisi Coates.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailed a yacht across the South China sea with three Malaysians who taught me a lot about not taking life too seriously!

Hunted with the Iban tribesman in Borneo and had to be rescued from a swamp

Swam with sharks in the Red Sea and have the (very close up!) photos to prove it

Riden on top of a train in Sri Lanka

Stayed with a family in Nepal and met a living Goddess!

Teach, Learn, Share

There's too much out there to know just one language, my current mission is to learn Mandarin and am loving it, suddenly everything's new!

I hope to share with others all the fantastic places in my local neighbourhood of Herne Hill, London.
