ABOUT ME
How long do I have?! To start with I'll talk the pants off anyone who will listen so watch out!
I live a free and easy life having left my job as PE teacher two years ago to travel. Been to lots of places, seen lots of things. But the best thing was the time I spent inside my own head and the people I met along the way.
PHILOSOPHY
5 Lessons in Life from Dr Seuss
1. Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is youer than you.
2. Why fit in when your were born to stand out?
3. You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.
4. Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
5. Today I shall behave as if this is the day I will be remembered.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For a while I'll just be hosting! Time to give back.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hitch hiked with a wicked lady to Wellington and ended up staying on her couch for weeks! She also got me a job on the Hobbit film building sets! Not bad really! Bar has been set pretty high!
Interests
Am a little obsessed with learning, self development, spirituality, health and fitness and LOVE sport!
I used to play rugby in the winter and cricket in the summer although I will enjoy any sport I play!
I adore cooking for people as well as for myself and will try anything once. I even worked as a cook in a Buddhist retreat once!
I read a lot, mainly books about health and personal growth, spirituality but also loved Harry Potter and Game of Thrones books. Love Tim Ferriss - 4HWW, 4HB and 4HC.
I play a little guitar, it is next on my list of things to master after I get back from Italy.
I obviously like travelling and if I can get some skiing in along the way then great. Failing that mountains, beaches and the sea are amazing too ;)
Love a good film and a night in but am a social animal and have a weakness for red wine and gin and tonics!
I love hiking and walking up a countries highest mountains although have never done anything about 3000m! You also can't beat a bit of wild camping.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I'm easy! The Intouchables was amazing! Braveheart, Gladiator and Matrix are in top 5!
Music: Bill Withers, indie rock, classic rock and jazz and more recently alternative folky indie.
Books: Lots of different motivational books, health books, sporting autobiographies and the occasional bit of fiction!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being swamped by lots of children in the middle of Malawi whilst trekking on a school trip. Seeing the amazement on the faces of my school kids was great but the joy and happiness that the young children showed despite having nothing was phenomenal. When I started setting up my tent and getting my sleeping bag and inflatable mat out I was made to reflect on what I have and what I want in life and how often I convince myself that I need something that I really don't need! Hope that makes sense!
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to help you to eat and exercise more effectively and drop some truth bombs on what you think you know about nutrition and health!
I love cooking and am pretty damn good!
Would love to learn more conversational French and am currently learning Italian.
I can teach you how to juggle and whistle with your fingers! And if you can't burp I'll sort you out!
