ABOUT ME

Born 17th June, 1984, a beautiful baby boy came kicking and screaming his way into the world. He would be named Ben, then Daniel, then finally James David Hancock.
Spending the largest portion of life growing up in North London, there was never much sunshine or beach action however I got the travel bug from a young age thanks to my parents who fortunately loved exploring the world.
Years later, at the tender age of 28, I still have not even made the slightest dent on my bucket list of places to visit and see CouchSurfing as the perfect way to help aid my travelling.

My friends would say I am outgoing, ambitious and definitely have a passion for travelling and meeting new people. They would also tell you I have a silly sense of humour and am a professional at sleeping.
I am extremely laid back and easy going and am happiest when I am with good company and have a beer or two in hand.

At the moment I am a surfer but if I have experiences I am hoping for, maybe I will host in the future after my travels

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I sit here writing my profile (23rd October 2012), I am still very new to all of this.
I have joined CouchSurfing predominantly to aid me with with my travels in the USA where I hope to stay for around 3 months.
I arrive 30th October 2012, just in time for Halloween and will leave 23rd January 2013.
I have no set route yet and hopefully CouchSurfing will help determine where I visit and stay.

Interessen

My main interest aside from travelling is Arsenal football club - (this is a London soccer team for you Americans). They can set my mood for days on end and I can admittedly be grumpy if they have lost a match. I love them so much that I have woken up at 6am when in different parts of the world to watch them on tv.
I have a passion for food but am quite a bad cook - looking to learn on my travels.

Like everyone else on couch surfing though, my biggest hobby is travelling and I am always keeping my eyes and ears out for stories to help plan my next trip.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I love most types of music but if you were to look through my Ipod you would mostly see RnB, Soul and Motown... with maybe some boy band tracks in for good measure.
I love watching live music and am lucky enough to see many new acts on a regular basis with me working in a bar.

I do enjoy movies but often feel guilty when watching them and feel I could be doing something more productive when doing so.
I do however love 'American Dad', 'Family Guy' and both the UK & US 'The Office'.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I have been lucky enough to travel quite alot so it would be hard to pinpoint exact places / things I have seen, but have lived on the French Riviera for a couple of years where every corner turned is another secluded beach. Rivalling those would be my time in Thailand / Malaysia where the beaches top anywhere in the world in my opinion.

I think some of my favourite memories would not be things I have done or seen but would be with the people I experienced them with.
