About Me
CURRENT MISSION
hoping to eventually find a nice place to live in the countryside.
ABOUT ME
Sometimes very talkative and social, sometimes I prefer to just sit and watch things happen.
I try to get along with everyone; if I'm having an argument with you it's probably because I think you're interesting, and I'm trying to understand you a bit better. I do my best to forgive people and not to hold grudges. The only thing that's likely to make me lose my temper is someone's freedom being interfered with...
I like to get to know people, and I try to listen properly.
I'm sure I can't be that bad, I've got friends. :]
PHILOSOPHY
no more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment, I've just moved out of student halls for the summer, and will be staying in my room at my dad and stepmum's place in Barnes. Alas, no available couch, unless you want to share my bed.
hopefully this will change soon! I'm looking to move into somewhere bigger as soon as I can, then I'll be happy to host other surfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
couchsurfed in Alaska, with 3 separate hosts. Each was a fantastic experience in its own way, and at each place we felt extremely welcome. Made music, had great food, and got to chill out with some very friendly, funny and interesting people.
surfed one host in Reykjavik, where I was an extremely unreliable guest, but was still welcomed and befriended. lovely.
Interests
Music. Cycling. Nice People. The company of lovely ladies. A good party. Food (and Drink). Books. The not-so-ordinary states of mind induced by these (and other) things being done well.
And there's always a bit of mystery and adventure on the horizon, or right where I'm standing if I have the time to look.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to anything that is done well, from the heart. Anything that really grooves.
You can tell if someone is really enjoying their music.
-
Smog, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Tinariwen, Shpongle, Devendra Banhart, Tom Waits, Syd Barret, Belle and Sebastian, Miles Davis, Mice Parade, Eat Static, Fela Kuti, the Mars Volta, Johnny Cash, Terry Riley, Can, Funkadelic, Mulatu Astatke, David Byrne, Captain Beefheart, Fleet Foxes, Bert Jansch, Pentangle, Gong, Bonobo, the Magic Lantern, Electric Jalaba. All good music is Psychedelic.
I like to read, but I don't get to as much as I'd like.
-
Robert Anton Wilson, Steve Aylett, Alan Moore, Michael Moorcock, Italo Calvino, Tony White. and just read "The War of Don Emmanuel's Nether Parts" by Louis de Bernières. which was hilarious, tragic, sickening and epic in equal measures. I'd read it if I were you.
I like films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
well, the trip I just took was quite special. spent 6 weeks hitching around Alaska, then 10 days cooling off in Reykjavik. Saw some of the most beautiful places on earth, and met some of the most wonderful people too.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, the obvious one is that I speak English.
And I'd be happy to share that with anyone who's trying to learn. I may not be great at many things, but I can spell most words I know in the English language. How's that for a skill...
I'd love to learn another language too, so if anyone fancies showing me how to speak their way, it would be appreciated.
I play the guitar a little too, and would be happy to teach anyone what I know, to learn some new tricks, and to share music with people. I would like to know more about the theoretical side of music, and if there's anyone who can dress that up in such a way that I'll be able to learn it, that would be fantastic.
Also, I'd like to know how to knit.
Along with any other good practical skills that you don't get taught in school anymore. learned how to change a fuse recently, score!
Good recipes, for mostly vegan food. I've got a few ways to make things taste good, let's hear yours. :]
