About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Helping the people of Toulouse to speak English with a wonderful English accent.

ABOUT ME

I lived in Leeds for 12 years and had done plenty of travelling right up until about the time when I bought my own flat! I joined up to couch surfing to see some more of this world and meet some interesting people. Well, it turns out that I did find some interesting people through couch surfing and I decided to move to Toulouse after a CS visit to the south of France.

I'm fairly laid back in my outlook, which means the south of France is ideal for me, but I still have plenty of energy for getting out and seeing new places and trying new things.

PHILOSOPHY

Good things come to those who do good things. I like to help other people where I can (you lucky Couch Surfers!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted and visited a few people through CS and can do again now I have a couch I can call my own!

Me and a friend got stuck out in the snow on a cycle tour once and were given beds for the night and food by strangers who invited us into their house. So kind. We were lucky as otherwise we would have camped in -5 degrees snowy fields. Brr!

Interests

As you'll have seen, cycle touring is a passion of mine - I cycled to Toulouse from Leeds, camping with sanglier along the way. I like walking and mountain biking on big hills; climbing occasionally, and playing tennis a lot :-) If you want a game - let me know!

Besides the sporty things, I love a good debate. I'm always good for a random chat on something too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycling coast to coast across England in the snow was amazing...amazing that we chose to sleep in tents and amazing that we actually enjoyed ourselves. Many people don't believe us when we say it was fun!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I can teach people about the joy of sport and healthy living...whilst sipping a beer or two and eating a huge meal of course ;-)

I want to learn how other people live their lives and see if there's anything I'm missing.
