About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To move to SoCal

ABOUT ME

I love meeting new people. Very laid-back, but very free-spirited. I could entertain a vegetable. I speak German and Spanish and I'm interested in writing, but mostly I just like to have a good time and relax in beautiful environs. Besides writing, I have lived in the random place of Bolivia and also traveled all throughout Europe. I really value respect and honesty. I don't hold any secrets. Anything you want to know I'll tell you. I have done some outlandish things in my day. Anyways, I'm trying to establish myself in California, but until I do I'm playing musical couches. I recently returned from a teaching job in Peru. Update as of 07/26/09: I have a full-time job in Sherman Oaks that begins tomorrow, so any help with a spare couch until I have enough saved up to get a place of my own is appreciated.

PHILOSOPHY

Frivolity leads to serious discovery. I tend to josh everyone about everything. It's my way of finding out what people value in life. Personal history is cool to me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My friends, Angel de Armendi and Chris Raber, both did this and said that it was a pretty great program, so I figured I'd give it a try.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I learned German and Spanish. I have met the most recent president of Bolivia. I completed an eighteen mile pilgrimage over night this past Easter in Peru.

Teach, Learn, Share

There is nothing new under the sun. I truly believe that if you can think it, it has already manifested itself somewhere else. I think people's histories are the only truly unique thing people have to tell. The rest is unnecessary groping for absolutes that only exist (ostensibly) in math. I believe community and discipline are very important to feel fulfilled in life. They are at the core of all major religions. I have searched for a religion all my life. I do not judge people for doing what they do. Everyone has their justifications. I have kicked smoking and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I think you shouldn't knock something or someone's decisions until you have experienced them firsthand. I believe silence is more pleasant than laughter, but I do love to laugh.
