About Me

Some people call me James, and others call me "Him" as in Cantonese.

If you know me for the first hour, you may have the impression I am a shy guy, but inside I am passionate. I am a science/music geek so if you want to share something nerdy, I will be more than willing to discuss it :D :D :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first CS experience was in the Netherlands, and I've been lucky to have met my host, who is still one of my closest friends now :)
For me CS is not only about sleeping and hosting! My experiences with awesome hosts tell me that CS is more about knowing every city and every culture in a way that you can never understand by just being a tourist alone.

Interests

Music ranks first among my interests. Now I am starting to write some music myself, trying to create some awesome new music. I also play the viola, so if you are lucky when I have it with me :D

I also love to learn languages, and meanwhile I am studying German. One of my targets in my life is to become a polygot. How different writing systems work fascinates me a lot.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is from Ligeti. (Surely look up his Lontano, it's awesome)
Besides that Muse and Sigur Ros are also often on my playlist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There was a very inspiring experience of me with a Tunisian/Ukrainian couple. They told me Tunisia is not just a normal muslim country but there are also underground parties going on from time to time. It was interesting how two people coming from so different backgrounds can create such a special chemical reaction.
