Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm just a west-coast best-coast dude from Seattle backpacking around Asia for the spring/summer. I've just finished four years of living in South Korea teaching English as a foreign language.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I thoroughly believe the best way to learn about a new place is to experience it with the people who live there. Just about the best thing that can happen in life is finding someone new who gets you, or who can blow your mind with a new dose of perspective. If you find these people halfway around the world, even better!
Interests
I am big into exercise, and will be doing my best with bodyweight exercises as I travel in place of my beloved barbells. I also am taking a college algebra class as I travel as a prerequisite for a second bachelor's degree (in computer science).

Music, Movies, and Books
My all-time favorite film director is Akira Kurosawa. I practiced a huge amount of creative avoidance in high school with my homework, and as a result ended up watching a lot of movies of all kinds: old, new, arthouse, classic, foreign.
I like a lot of different music, but I'm usually listening to electronic or classical.
I like science fiction, but I haven't done as much reading as I'd have liked in the past few years. Hopefully that changes with all the waiting in airports.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was a kid I accidentally dropped a bowling ball on my thumb. It was amazingly dumb.
