About Me

I've been travelling on and off since I was 15. I used to get around by cycling, but now I'm an avowed hitchhiker! My favourite countries are Turkey, Canada and Morocco, and I also lived in Argentina for a year working as a writer and political analyst. Now I'm in New Zealand for a year or so, hoping to learn as much as a can and say hi to some locals!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is hitchhiking for beds. You meet people, share stories and learn more about the local culture, history and things to do - I don't know why more people don't couchsurf!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

About five years ago I visited the Thi Lor Su Waterfalls in Thailand during the rainy season. To get there, I had to ride a motorbike down a dirt track, hike four hours through dense jungle with no map and only an occasionalluy visible path, swim across a river and dodge huge spiders' webs and at one point a very large snake. When I finally arrived, there was no one else there, and I think it was the most spectacular thing I have ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I play the guitar badly, I can tell you all the best reasons to hitchhike, I can teach you French and Spanish, and I spent three years studying nothing but philosophy so if that's your thing then I'm your man!

What I Can Share with Hosts
