ABOUT ME

I studied music composition in Melbourne. I've taught guitar and theory at Melbourne University. I played in a band on a ship which sailed the world (not a bad gig, hey?) I'm currently in Edinburgh doing some teaching and 'studying' whisky. You can hear some of my music stuff up on my soundcloud account if you like:

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Office Space, Lost in Translation, High Fidelity (yeah I know it's kind of a chick flick but how cool is that scene when they beat up Tim Robbins!?)

Music: I listen to a lot of stuff, including some pretty wierd and wacky stuff. But it's all good. Jazz, funk-rock, modern music (that means classical music written by people who are still alive :) )

Books: Nature via Nurture, The Selfish Gene, The Language Instinct, The Diversity of Life (yes I'm a bit of a science nerd), Predictably Irrational and Naked Lunch.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I played Beatles songs at a Finnish wedding in Oulu, being introduced as a famous Australian actor from Neighbours (I'm not).

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - music, in the practical and philosophical sense. I can also show you how to get a pick out of the inside of a guitar in 10 seconds :)

Learn - languages and culture. Anything I don't know!

Share - conversation, coffee, ideas.
