About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world at home and abroad.

ABOUT ME

My most recent trip was to Paris, France. Picutres here: http://picasaweb.google.com/adam30/paris and blog here: http://blog.myspace.com/pierretonfrere.

I was born on a U.S. military base in Taipei, Taiwan. Moved to the U.S.A. when I was 14 months old. My main childhood town was Galesburg, IL, and I still have much family (on my father's side) in Galesburg. My main teenage town was San Diego, CA (my mother still resides in San Diego). As a child, I lived briefly in several other places in the U.S. I'm an actor. I have been in Los Angeles for over ten years and have been blessed to make my living solely as an actor for the last three years (see www.peterjamessmith.com).

When I've travelled, I've really enjoyed the times I've just set out walking without a rigid itinerary.

I strive to strike a balance between my body, mind and spirit.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in something greater in me, rather than something greater than me.

I live my life to learn and grow and empathize and encourage the same in others.

I feel the world is a beautiful place, even with the challenges one can face. I think wonderful things are happening all the time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a couch surfer and can show you around L.A.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I have hosted two CouchSurfers and have been hosted by two CouchSurfers. Before I was on this site, I relied on friends around the world for couches in the past.

Couches I have surfed (including CS and non-CS) include couches in San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Madison, Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris and Taipei.

Interests

My daily routine at home can vary widely. I exercise regularly. I enjoy films--big hollywood movies and smaller independent and foreign films and documentaries. I see some theater. I watch some t.v., but not a lot.

I enjoy discovering new restaurants, new recipes and reading food blogs.

I enjoy exploring unfamiliar music.

I enjoy acting a lot and do so at least weekly in script reading groups I am involved with.

Travelling more is a goal of mine. Learning more languages.

Recently I've been reading about world religions and spirituality.

I have an interest in nutrition and physical fitness. Am always interested in learning about new foods and ways of eating.

I like taking care of my home. I like taking care of myself.

Other things I enjoy are walking, KCRW (one of Los Angeles' public radio stations, see kcrw.com), my ipod, reading, yoga, and being a tourist at home and abroad.
