About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"Challenge my own way of thinking, meet cool people and experience life as much as possible"
ABOUT ME
I had my first major travel experience in 2001 when I started my Australian working holiday Visa. I loved the experiences of being on the road, with nothing but a bag on my back. The amazing people you meet everyday, gives a great sense of community, and opportunity. When my visa finished I decided to head back through Asia, and this experience truly set the seed for a life meeting new people, and experiencing what life has got to offer. IâÃâ¬Ãâ¢ve been travelling ever since, and during this travelling managed to squeeze in a Development Studies degree in England, which along with giving me the ability to travel more, it also gave me a new perspective to the areas I visit, and manages me to give something back to the communities through voluntary development work.
At home I work in a bar, which helps fund the travel and the projects IâÃâ¬Ãâ¢m involved in. I try to live healthy lifestyle, and believe in a healthy mind and body helps toward keeping a healthy strong spirit
I try not to take anything including myself too seriously.
I have recently completed my postgraduate study in Anthropology and this has aided in me seeing experiences in a new light, and realise the interconnected holistic nature of the world and cultures that exist within it.
I have travelled through many continents and through many many countries. I have met some amazing people. The people I meet truly make the place and have learnt through these experiences, and these people (many of whom recommended Couch Surfing). I feel lucky that I have had the opportunity to have these experiences and learn through travel, and other peopleâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s experiences.
Some of the most fun things IâÃâ¬Ãâ¢ve done so far has to be living on a local cargo boat on a hammock down the Amazon for 3 days then camping in the Jungle, snorkeling with sea turtles. One of the more recent experiences, especially spiritually, was when I managed to have the opportunity to be teaching monks English, in Mcloud Ganj, India. This was home to the Tibetan Government in exile. While I was there the Dalai Lama returned from his meeting in Washington. I was lucky enough to attend his teachings, and observed a humbling, and peaceful religion. I definitely gained a higher sense of humility after this experience.
I love getting out there and seeing as much as possible and try to say yes to all new experiences no matter how different.
PHILOSOPHY
Spend more time doing rather than just being!!
In 20 years from now you will regret the things you didnâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t do not the ones you did.
Open to all new experiences, even if I look apprehensive at some of them :-)
Life travels by pretty fast, if you donâÃâ¬Ãâ¢t stop and look around once in a while youâÃâ¬Ãâ¢ll miss it.
I believe the positive Karmic and "Pay it Forward" approach to life is highly rewarding for everyone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to hear other peoples' travel stories, and when back in Nottingham I feel this lets me continue adventures through other peoples eyes. So meeting up for a drink is usually a good way of doing this.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am new to couch surfing, and look forward to the new people I will meet. I hope to give, and help in any way I can, even if it’s just the experiences I have gained on my journeys.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Through serendipitous events I stumbled upon a small village in Nepal. Which I ended up staying in for several weeks, helping starting several development projects there and teaching in some amazing children. We started a system of Education, Empowerment and Equality. This place will stay with me forever and will always have a place in my heart.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hopefully I can teach using my experiences, and understand that doors swing many ways. Teaching, learning and sharing all go hand in hand.
