About Me

Hello!

I'm originally from the wonderful Lafayette, LA, where you can get some of the best home cooking and meet the friendliest people to be found on the planet. I later went to college and lived for a time in Portland, OR. At college I majored in philosophy, with concentrations in classical studies and mathematics. I recently finished a year of English teaching in gorgeous Guilin, China, and I'm currently in pursuit of wonder.

Interests

Reading books near the sound of running water.
Singing Shanghai jazz standards while taking public transportation.
Being mindful of how my body relaxes when I drink tea.
Last-hitting with Veigar's Q on LoL.
Talking with people about things that are hard to express clearly.
Cityscapes at night.
Creating moments for future nostalgia.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Complete Works of Plato, ed. John M. Cooper, is almost literally my Bible. You can open this book to any page and find something worthy of careful and prolonged consideration. Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics is also hugely inspiring.

The Ace Attorney video game series is one of my favorites, and is the main reason why I shout "Objection!" randomly at people. I'm also partial to classics such as the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series. Currently playing Magicka with some friends.

I'm pretty open musically speaking. There's very little that I won't at least give a try. I would say that I currently find myself going back to jazz and blues music, and contemporary remixes thereof.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed 22 flights of stairs yesterday for the hell of it.
