ABOUT ME

I am young, untravelled and inexperienced, but not for long. I'm eager to meet new people and see new places. I am a proudly South African student studying at Stellenbosch University. I study Philosophy, German, French and linguistics. I am based in Cape Town and I love my city. I play a few instruments and a few sports when I'm not working. I am passionate about music, food, languages and the arts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My cousin is a seasoned Couchsurfer who introduced my mom and me to this website. Soon after, my mother joined Couchsurfing and we have hosted three people so far. My first experience of Couchsurfing was hosting an incredible couple from San Francisco. They only stayed for a few days, but it was so lovely talking to and learning from them. The same goes for our next Couchsurfer - an amazing Couchsurfer from Hong Kong, who also stayed with us for a few days. Before I had even joined Couchsurfing, I was already a passionate member. I hope my future on Couchsurfing brings many more experiences like these - in my beautiful home city of Cape Town or abroad.

Trying new things and perfecting what I already know. Whether it's playing guitar or piano, reading, playing squash or travelling, I am always excited to learn. I am entirely obsessed with languages, which is why I am studying French and German at university. I love good beer and wine and I also enjoy cooking very much.

Too many to mention. Wes Anderson, Guy Ritchie and Quintin Tarintino movies are my favourite. I am so passionate about music. Alt-J, The Black Keys, Beirut, Dave Matthews Band, David Bowie, Francesco De Gregori, Devendra Banhart, Eric Clapton, Jack White, The Kooks, The Lumineers, MGMT, Milky Chance, Mikhael Paskalev, Muse, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, R.E.M., The Raconteurs, Radiohead, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rodrigo Amarante, The Rolling Stones, The Shins, Simon & Garfunkel, Sigur Ros, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Stone Roses, The Velvet Underground, The White Stripes and so on. I enjoy a lot of classical and jazz music too. Chopin, Debussy, Beethoven. Paul Desmond, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck. Books? Orwell, Salinger, Fitzgerald and Hunter S. Thompson are my favourites.
