About Me

I'm a fairly relaxed Aussie girl. I've grown up beachside most of my life and struggle to consider an existence without the ocean. I enjoy a good laugh and appreciate beautiful souls with a story to tell. I could probably talk underwater, my friends often suggest I suck the oxygen out of every room I enter ;)

I like to be outdoors with the sun on my skin and around nature, although I'm almost as happy exploring new cities and immersing myself in new cultures (fooooood).

Making people smile and creating joyous moments for everyone makes me quite happy.

I spent a good portion of my childhood in and out of hospitals with cancer so I endeavour to enjoy each moment as much as possible. I like to think I don't get too caught up in fickle things. I like to give back volunteering with the organisations i benefited from but also if possible, in places I travel.

I can usually be found barefoot dancing or humming with food in hand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the concept of Couchsurfing. Living in Fremantle we regularly meet travellers and often end up swapping a couch for interesting travel tales and insights into different cultures.

I find it quite exciting listening to stories and taking down people's recommendations. Those secret unheard of places that only the locals know about, the absolute must-see landscapes and the culturally immersive moments that can be life changing.

Interests

When not working or studying I play indoor beach volleyball a few times a week, I have a rescue dog and like to get to the beach everyday if possible. I love dancing and music, I play guitar but don't get to pick it up as much as I'd like to these days.

I enjoy being outside and love camping, hiking and being a beach bum.

Anything relatively creative usually draws me in.

Music, Movies, and Books

Depends on my mood! :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In May 2016 I trained, trekked and camped the Camino Trail (and Inca Trail) to the Sungate at Machu Picchu. I had Leukaemia as a child and my health can be impacted dramatically on a weekly basis, so it took quite some effort to get my body healthy enough to smash out the trail and also enjoy the stunning scenery. I managed to raise just over $12, 000 for the Leukeamia Foundation here in Australia in 4 months.

It was one of the most spiritually rewarding experiences of my life. Everyone was walking to remember loved ones they had lost to these terrible diseases. Some of us were walking as survivors and for the friends we lost along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning from everyone and hearing about their amazing experiences

My proximity to Fremantle, in particular South Beach. Walking or riding distance to South Terrace for tasty eats and a bus stop right outside. We have growers markets down the street every Sunday and a rescue dog who is learning to love new people.
