I'm Jamie, currently travelling la BELLA Italia (and other countries when I get the chance!)...
I'm very much living a dream of mine to be here; experiencing with my own senses the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of this endlessly intriguing country. Most meaningful to me are the human connections made possible by the type of travel I am interested in. My passion is absorbing the real culture of a place. To do this I believe nothing beats genuine communication in a friendly informal environment.

I am a graduate of intercultural studies at a Japanese university. It is a broad degree (basically I am interested in everything) but have specialized in food culture. I am serious about food and this is what brought me to Italy... Also I love language and am learning Italian!

I have worked mostly in the hospitality industry but also in outdoor fields; an orchard, a ski field, a surf shop. I have also done a lot of volunteering with organisations such as AFS, WWOOF and IVHQ if you know them?

I love to host when I am in my home country and although I am new to couch surfing I know how fun it can be to have new people in your home for a couple of days... It would be awesome to meet you!
