Hi!

I'm Jamie Grant. That may sound very English, but I am very much Dutch, with a whiff of Indonesian, German, French and Scottish DNA in my blood.
Originally I'm from Brabant. As a child I lived near the Efteling: the BEST amusementpark of the world where life becomes a fairytale. Maybe that's where my love for theatre and acting started. Now I live in Amsterdam and work as an actress.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At this moment I'm planning my trip to Japan.
I've been to several countries before, such as Thailand, Mozambique, South Africa, the Netherlands Antilles and Indonesia, but this will be the first time I'll be traveling alone.
I love meeting new people and I think couchsurfing is a good way to get to know a country better, in another way. Of course I want to visit the famous sites of Japan, but I would also love to get to know the 'real Japan'!

Interests

As I mentioned before, I've made my passion my work, my work is my passion ;-). I started acting when I was 8 years old and never stopped since.
I also have a fascination for meat. Eating meat, cooking meat, cutting meat and selling it. Once a week I work in a butcher's shop. And I love it.

Music:
When I was a little girl I used to listen to R&B! R. Kelly, Ginuwine, Aaliyah. A little later I loved listening to Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu. Now I listen to Jeff Buckley, Matt Corby, Lana del Rey, Lykke li, Beyonce, but also Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding.

Moulin Rouge! I saw it a thousand times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam with a wale shark. It was amazing!
One of my other interests when I'm traveling is snorkeling and diving.
