My name is Jamie and I am a musician, singer, songwriter and producer from Galway, Ireland. I spent several years in the University of Limerick studying Architecture, but after realising that it wasn't for me, I left college to pursue a career in music. I have spent about two years working on my songs and my voice so that I could get a set together to play live, record, and release to the public. Right now, I am preparing the release of my debut single and EP and I am hoping to travel around the UK and Europe to build up a fanbase, and make some money to fund the release of these songs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am extremely passionate about what I do and I am equally passionate about people and want to share my music with as many people as possible. For this reason, I wish to travel around the UK and Europe and meet and get to know as many different people and experience as many different ways of life as I can. Unfortunately, one of the limitations of this is the expense of travelling, particularly with my musical equipment. I'm on couch surfing to help me spread my music around the world without being set back by lack of funding. Also, as a songwriter, it's invaluable to me to see life from many different perspectives and my experience of couch surfing so far has shown me that the best way of doing that is to experience a town or city with someone who actually already lives there. It is also been a wonderful way of making new friends and getting to know the cities and places that I visit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have recorded my debut EP with Grammy Award winning producer Ken Nelson. Ken is best known as Coldplays producer, and he has also worked with people such as Paolo Nutini, Sam Smith, Dave Grohl, Pharell Williams, Stevie Wonder and a huge list of other amazing artists.

To be independent and unsigned and to be working with someone with such an amazing reputation is beyond anything I could have imagined, and I am so excited to be able to share my music with everyone in the coming months.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good food, good music, good conversation, stories of travel and of my hometown. I am quite sociable but also very respectful of other peoples space, so I would like to think, and I have been told, that I'm not a difficult guest to have around.
