Update for Summer 2019 - I enjoyed my 2016 traipse across the US (I traveled solo from Orlando, FL to Seattle, WA and back using Couchsurfing, ride sharing, hostels, hiking, camping, and admittedly a couple plane rides). I had to go home to take care of a medical thing (needed an ankle ligament repair surgery). I've recently completed the surgery and recovery and am finally on the European continent to travel and traipse here. I'm feeling very excited to see where the wind blows me this time!!
Summer 2016 - Most kids run away from home at some point in their childhood. I never did. But now that my own kids are both in college, it's time for me to finally 'run away from home'. I quit my job and was in Texas helping my Mom with some home repairs. I plan to head to a dude ranch in Washington state in the fall, but in the meantime, I've been in Utah and Colorado. Already enjoying making new friends via CouchSurfing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because it's awesome! Of course!! ;-)
I started because I was riding as co-pilot with my Mom's friend, who moved to Draper, UT. We traveled from Dallas to Provo/Salt Lake City and when I arrived I wanted to stay and explore. I think CouchSurfing is a great opportunity to meet lovely and fun people who know the area best. I'm also interested in meeting up with people who camp/hike, and would love to tag along on mini-excursions should the right opportunity present.
Once I'm done with my European adventure (summer 2019), I'll be open to hosting in Central Florida (fall/winter 2019)! Start making your plans to come see me!!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Most all music has a time and place in my world. Love ballads, jazz, rock, pop, opera, musical theater, you name it...if it has melody, harmony, and a beat, I'll sing along!!
Movies: Documentaries, action, adventure, sci-if, fantasy, rom/com, psychological thrillers.
Books: Avid reader of many genres. Currently reading Thinking, Fast and Slow.
Games: I love to play table/board/card games. I have several with me and would love to share them with hosts and learn to play your favorite games.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Here's a couple...
Ran away from home, again, summer of 2019, to travel Europe. I have a very loose plan of the places I'd like to see, and am open to whatever opportunities present themselves. I am in it for the adventure, the history of so many amazing places, and meeting other travelers to share our stories and our personal journeys.
Quit my "real job" and traveled solo through the U.S. for the summer of 2016 (May thru October) from Orlando, Florida to Seattle, Washington, with lots of stops in between.
The fall of 2015 I went on a 32 mile back packing trip of the Grand Canyon of the Tuolomne River/Meadow in Yosemite with 5 friends. I planned the food for several of us...all meals and snacks for 7 days out on the trail...no MREs...real, homemade meals, prepped/cooked, then dried and vacuum sealed for easy transportation and rehydration/heating on the trail. The friends, the daily exertion, the laughter and fun, the hours spent gazing into the open night sky watching satellites zip along with the Milky Way in the back ground, dipping into the icy cold water after a long day of hiking, the campfires, the determination to finish in spite of the pain...truly one of the most AMAZING things I've done in my life!
Oh, and there's the 2007 trip to Peru...hiking and camping and shamanic ceremonies and Machu Picchu and sleeping under flocks of parrots in the jungle and so much more!!
Teach, Learn, Share
My life's passion is to learn, so I know stuff, and I'm always happy to share with an interested person. But I love to learn from others. We come with two ears and one mouth for a reason, after all. :-)
I speak fluent American English (including business and slang) and would love to share language lessons with a host. Being in Europe, I'm working on picking up German, French, Italian, and anything else I can while I'm here!
Some of my passions: cooking, singing, camping, reading, gardening, self-sustainability, health and nutrition, travel, scuba, painting, playing table/board/card games...etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Laughter, help with housework, painting, cooking, an understanding ear, and more. On my 2016 Couchsurfing trip, I helped a host with their home repairs as they readied their investment home for sale. I can learn and do a lot...make a suggestion, I'm a hard worker and happy to help...we'll figure it out. :-)
