About Me

Jamie here! I grew up in Livermore, CA, but I lived in London for 7 years, I speak un peu de French and a little bit better Italian, despite not remembering how to say "a little" in it - although ..."un poco"? I'm a self-identified-female & lesbian.

I've lived in France for a year. I love roommates - the more the better, and lez-be-honest (I can say that, I'm a lez, ahaha. Nor do I give a shi.....t(?) #swearing? lol) we've all lived and traveled globally, I'd love to hear stories, and hope you would too!

I hope you like me – both my fingers are crossed. (does that mean 4 of my fingers are involved, or the act itself that counts as one unit? - I guess I'll see!)

-Jamie

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Really, I love meeting people.

I can bring art presents for the hell of it (my way of showing my feelings is through a piece of personalized art, and/or stickers. My guitar and play it shittily while I play guitar as I sing my actually good songs. ahaha.

I put my ALL into something. Such as - I've seen the musical - THE MUSICAL - The Book of Mormon 43 times, and I drew a lot of portraits for the actors, I've watched all the bootlegs, and taught myself all the dances from the show. I'm a professional Fan, Well, I don't get paid for most of it (apart from my T-shirt shop), but I'm good. And I don't mind admitting it, but I'm not one of those people who think everything they do is golden and touts it around. I just talk a lot.

I'm a loser and kinda like it. I make myself laugh more than anyone else I know.

Music, Movies, and Books

Queen - saw them with Paul Rogers 12 times in England, 2005. I've met them, AND I'm on the DVD they made of it.

ABBA - my favorite brand of humor is stuff that makes me think, "wait. What?" - like Monty Python, Absurdist. But ABBA breaks the rules because they are unintentionally hilarious at times (they have a song about thanking Livingston for all the work he put into finding the Nile's sources and for inuntentionally freeing slaves. that makes THREE songs they've written about historical people/events. WHY? I love it. But their voices and most of their songs are gorgeous. Despite the lyrics. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXpzPWwEFOI&ab_channel=7ABBA7)

Devo - Absurdism, and awesome and political in ways that subvert the normal yelling matches in politics through weird songs. (http://jamiedole.com/photos/Halloween/Devo1.jpg)

Harry Potter, see below.

The Mormon religion - Like ABBA, they don't know how weird they are. The real Book of Mormon (which I love in an academic/anthropological way - they are a constant "wait. What?" belief system, such as - it has 15% more occurences of the phrase "And it came to pass" than the Bible does, despite being a third of its size.) If you are Mormon, I would love to ask questions.

South Park, duh-doy

Also, Rufus Wainwright, Weird Al (http://jamiedole.com/photos/Halloween/WeirdAlHalloween3.jpg)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I won an international photography award at the age of 22!

(I'm also cool...)

Teach, Learn, Share

Photoshop it's easy if you just keep trying. You just got to love what you want to make. I wanted to make gifs during my (on-going) 30 Rock obsession, I had to learn, so I could, and because of that, I accidentally learned how to make a gif. It's the vocab they use that throws us off, once you figure out it's use, just associate the word with what you use it for...?

Speaking of Bibles, I'm not religious, I rely on real things to help me, like the sun. And any moral problems I have are solved thru "What would Dumbledore/Harry Potter do?" Harry Potter is my favorite and a non religion-based Bible and Guide to Life. But in no way am I prejudice against actual communities of good people who treat the Bible as a way of being a good person.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm fidgety but I don't snore. I think, lol.

I talk A LOT unless discouraged.

I really am a humOn person, but, a bit excentric. I leave you my song, "Earth is the Worst" (https://soundcloud.com/myprettycabinet/earth-is-the-worst)
