Hi, I'm Jamie but normally just go by Jock- unless it's passport control and I am a masters graduate of environmental geoscience from the UK who is now helping take part in the Global Atmospheric Plastic Survey 2024-2025 project! I have lived most of my life in the UK, although have also lived in Alberta, Canada and Shanghai, China- Not including being born in Prague, Czechia. I am always keen to see and do as much as is humanly possible alongside absolutely loving to meet new people anywhere I go!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am currently cycling from London, England to Melbourne Australia to see the world and help with the GAPS 2024-2025 survey for the world's largest microplastic survey. Along the way, meeting new people and any form of shelter (even just a patch of grass) always makes things so much more special and is something I believe is a core part of seeing the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year, I did a fundraising cycle trip to Bergen, Norway to raise money for PAPYRUS (a UK-based suicide prevention charity) with bike partner called Dana who's route i am now using to cycle to Australia!

How to use chopsticks? In general, I am pretty good at talking about rocks too whenever someone asks but I usually steer clear unless someone's interested!

I am always willing to learn as much as I can- as there is far too much that I don't know be it with general knowledge, cooking, camping, travel, music or anything else!

I always love to hear about other people's stories and am always happy to do my best to share mine.
