Backpacking in and around Eastern Europe for one year

ABOUT ME

I finished my Uni degree last year and am taking the year off to travel around Eastern Europe. I Heart music, creative types, down to earth people, learning about different countries, cooking and nature and animal type things.

I have been told I am genuine and that I say thank you too much.

I enjoy honest people far more than nice people. That being said, there is no one I really dislike.

I am very good at adapting to new sleeping habits, eating patterns, attitudes and climates - I always learn a lot by living with others, which is great.

I play instruments and sing which I've learned can be both irritating and entertaining depending on the person, so I try my hardest to read the individual.

PHILOSOPHY

I deliberately don't have a personal philosophy because I haven't learned enough yet.
I try to be open minded, grateful, honest and thoughtful.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm only just signing up now because I came from a week of couch surfing in Serbia that happened by accident, and it was fantastic, and not through this site. When I finish up my trip I'll be offering my couch in Melbourne to folks.

In Australia - camping with a friend on the shore of the Murray Darling river with no lights, completely alone without anyone for hours, then making coffee in the morning using river water and a small gas burner watching the fog slowly disappear.
In Naples, Italy - the utterly deranged scooter driving.
In Serbia - Learning about Rambo Amadeus.

I play banjo, guitar, mandolin, piano, and I sing. I compose music and my degree is in ethnomusicology, so I love to talk about the aesthetics of music and music of different cultures. I love to learn about new bands, films, food and drinks from different countries.
