About Me
ABOUT ME
Hi Everyone! I'm Jamie. I live and work in Jerusalem. I just finished a masters in political science and work researching Middle Eastern politics, which has been really interesting and rewarding. But, sometimes it feels like I'm in a bit of a bubble, in terms of being surrounded by very similar people. So, I want to start using couchsurfing as a resource again to travel, and meet people from all over the world. Also hostels are the worst, and so is AirBnB.
I'm back on Couchsurfing after being on hiatus for a few years (ie. I was a student and couldn't really afford to travel anywhere new), but now I'm back. Since then, this verification nonsense was introduced. I really would prefer not to use it, since I've had good couchsurfing experiences prior to it, just by using my own judgement. So, it means nothing that I'm not verified.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm back on Couchsurfing after a few years, after going to events and staying with hosts. I want to continue travelling this way, after staying in hostels and doing organized tours on previous trips, I genuinely believe that this is the best way.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed in Northern Israel, Berlin and Prague, and gone to events in Jerusalem. I liked all of them.
Interests
I really love concerts, travelling, reading, writing, exploring, biking, and just meeting new people, collecting new stories. I have also gotten very into cooking quite recently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's not an accomplishment, but once a really large chunk of ice came off the roof of a building, and landed about 2 centimeters from my toes. Any closer it would have broken my feet, or killed me. It's amazing that I survived.
Teach, Learn, Share
I work in Israeli politics, and I can talk about the situation there, and the Middle East as a whole, in a very unbiased, educational way, if anyone wants to learn more about it. I'm also happy to give Hebrew lessons, or cook some Middle Eastern food.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can provide great stores, respect, and a fun environment. I'm pretty low key and can provide my own food, just a couch, a bathroom, and great company are enough.
