About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm cheerful and easy-going, and I love learning new things, meeting new people, and seeing new places. I like to think I'm usually in a good mood, and try to see the best in every situation.
I spent six years at uni studying classics and law, before taking off to explore Europe for a while. After returning to New Zealand and spending a few years lawyering I have now made my way to the United Kingdom and am planning to do a mixture of working, holidaying, and travelling for a while.
PHILOSOPHY
Be kind, be tolerant, enjoy life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Was lucky enough to stay with some amazing hosts while in Europe and hosted in NZ before life got too hectic. Meeting up with Couchsurfers after moving to the UK has reminded me how nice it is to find a friendly face in a foreign city, so would be happy to provide the same for somebody visiting Wiltshire, or else in Christchurch when I get back.
Interests
Love playing sport (particularly tennis and field hockey), playing piano, singing, and catching up with friends. My flatmates in the UK are heavily involved in the modern jive scene and have now managed to get me going along several times a week!

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite writer is a fantasy author named Brandon Sanderson. I read his Mistborn trilogy a while ago and have been hooked ever since! More recently I have forced myself to scatter other books between fantasy novels which has resulted in new (and sometimes surprising) favourites. To Kill a Mockingbird, the Rosie Project, and Northanger Abbey to name a few.
Listen to all sorts of music. My favourite band is Queen, I enjoy swing, jazz, older pop, and motown as well as some more recent artists. Musical highlights that come to mind are seeing Michael Buble live in Auckland, and attending an Elton John concert in Barcelona the day I turned 29. Pretty wide tastes really, so if you have a favourite band you think I should listen to I'd be happy to give it a go!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After graduating university I spent a few months travelling Europe. One of my favourite memories is standing alone on the Acropolis in Athens during a thunderstorm.
Teach, Learn, Share
If any of my interests appeal to people, I am more than happy to teach or talk about them. I have a huge interest in mythology and folktales so am keen to learn the local stories where I stay!
