CURRENT MISSION

Quench this curiousity.

ABOUT ME

"Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody I have ever known." - Chuck Palahniuk

This is what my pals think of me though:

MILA:
Jamie is AMAZING!!!! when i think of Jamie, first thing that pops into my head is his never-ending curiousness about the world and everone and everything in it. aside from being wicked to talk to, he's also super fashionable and loves wearing/buying hip new clothes! even to the point when he's spent all his savings! really honest guy and gives great advice and he's just a general all-round great bloke :)
jamie loves travel and meeting new people and finding out how they tick and always asks a lot of questions, respectfully - which is a rad quality and is always mindful of other people's feelings. he's hell funny as well, says hell random stuff sometimes hahaha jamie's really gutsy and adventurous and spontaneous, and has fun wherever he is! he has many friends and you really cant fault him. he's going to achieve great things in his life-so blessed to know you broo!

KEV:
Jamie has always been a great friend with a appetite for adventure and an eat for friendly conversation. Ive travelled all over the world with this guy and always brightens the mood and puts up with my snoring. Couldn't think of a better person to connect with for memorable adventures and all round good times.

PAM:
I met Jamie when I lived in Australia for a while through a mutual friend. The first night I met him we had a wild and fun night together with friends, and I remember him sticking his head out the cab window trying his best not to puke on the way home. I tried to get him to do more shots after but he refused :) This was the beginning of a great friendship! Jamie was always there for me when I was emo and needed BFF support. He is so much fun to hang out with, and he was also there for me when I just wanted mellow days to sit on the beach and complain about life. He even once ate a bowl of fettuccini alfredo that I dropped on our dirty carpet and got severely ill the next day; he was willing to get sick just to not offend me! What a guy! haha!

His taste in music is awesome and he's always sharing great tunes with his friends. Jamie is a great listener, so give the same back to him! When he has his emo days, be sure to be there for him like he will always be there for you! My last day in Australia, he showed up with pizza express, and our fave Pure Blonde beers... and I will never forget the sad goodbye we had to endure. I have missed my good friend since that day 2 years ago, but am so happy he is visiting me in Vancouver!

It's been 2 years, but Jamie is a LIFELONG FRIEND no matter how far the distance between you! The distance between AUSTRALIA and CANADA has never let me forget how great of a friend and human being this guy is. So let him couchsurf in your pad and he will treat you with kindness and respect, and you will meet a person who you couldn't NOT like, even if you tried. Plus, cmon, he's hell hot. Yes- that is correct!

BRAD:
Where does anyone begin to describe Jamie? His penchant for discovering new slightly odd places that seem to always have brilliant food? Or his love of mammoth mammaries and reading glasses? You know, Librarian types ;) I think what it boils down to at the end of the day is that he's a good guy. Good to talk to, will make tears of laughter a regualr occurrence, solves problems, usually listens, but will always be there to help when he can..

One thing you can count on with Jamie is he wont forget his roots or who his friends are. (right?) But if you offer to buy him a scotch he'll be anyone's friend. My couch isn't probably the best to sleep on but it's always available if he wants it.

Kinda feel dirty... like i've just written an obituary...

LIP:
Ahh.. Good ol’ Jamie.. If I can sum him up in two words it’ll be “That guy”. He’s that guy who’s out there livin’ his life to the fullest – out doing the things we would dream of when we’re kids, he’s that guy who’s out seeing the world for what it is and always with the craziest stories and tales to share, he’s that guy who’s always filled with passion and energy in the things he love doing, and best of all, he’s that guy who you’ll call when you need.. someone to help finish off some left-over pastas. Heeh..

I’ve known Jamie since we were schoolgirl eager teenagers.. No day would pass without us reporting to each other of the new “sightings” and “potentials” we’d have. Though I do question his taste (she’s the same age as my lil’ sis man..) and hunting ground (seriously, the library? Dude..) at times, he’s always a top sport to hang and chill out with! Never a boring moment with this guy, he’s always filled with interesting stories and dramas and he’s one of the very few people who actually knows how to listen!

It's the chaos that makes you feel alive.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

After staying in hostels in California for a week, I had my first couchsurfing experience in Austin with Nick (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/nickotine/) who i travelled with for five weeks and someone i now consider a good friend.

Since then I have been hooked on jumping from place to place, meeting the people that inhabit these places, sharing stories with other travellers, learning from each other, living in home away from homes and most importantly making connections with people and taking that gallant leap of being complete strangers to friends.

When I get home, I want to pass it forward and hope that others will have the same amazing experiences as I have whilst on the road.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Had my first hitchhiking experience roughing it out from New Orleans, LA to Charlotte, NC where I voluntarily stepped outside my comfort zone and subjected myself to sleeping under bridges and in swamps, going without showers and crossing state borders on foot.

I also once saw a SWAT team in San Marcos, TX and thought a movie was being filmed across the road but in actual fact it was a real-life drug raid.

Saw the world from a bird's eye view hot air ballooning in the Avon Valley, Western Australia.

"When i was 17, I drank some very good beer. I drank some very good beer I purchased, with a fake I.D. my name was Brian McGee. I stayed up listening to queen. when i was 17".
