ABOUT ME

I'm 35 and was born and raised in the small city of Graz in the South of Austria.

I would say I like to enjoy my life,....I love good food and good wine. It's great to spend an evening with friends having a great dinner, drinking some good wine......oh, I think I've already said that I like good wine ;-)

Most of the time I'm in a good mood. I really like to laugh and joke around, no matter if everybody understands my kind of humor :-P

I like it to meet new people and don't have a problem in starting conversations with people I don't know (yet).

On the weekends (if there is enough time), I enjoy to go hiking in the Austrian mountains, always with my little digicam in the bag,..
because I always make many fotos, my hikes take often more time than planned. :-)

Besides that my hobbies are going jogging or bouldering, reading a book or listening music,...and on the lazy days watching DVDs. And as I enjoy good food, I also like cooking.

During my study I worked as a barkeeper and DJ in different Bars in Graz. After finishing my study (economics) I took a job as an tax advisor in training. I know...boooooring ;) Because of working all the time I didn't have a lot of time to travel. :-( ....and haven't seen a lot of the world :-(
Even my life was,... let's just say,...stressful. A friend of mine joked about my kind of work-life-balance by saying "I believe in a life before death",-P
As there are more important things in life than work, I decided to take a timeout.

So I'll be on a round the world trip, starting in June 2011 (hopefully for the next year).
The last year I traveled through Southamerica (Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brasil,...) and enjoyed every moment there. At the moment I take a short timeout of traveling,..but in the fall of 2012 my next trip starts...this time Asia and New Zealand. :-D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I only tried it one time (yet)...stayed in Lima for 2 weeks with couchsurfing,....was great! It's the best way to learn things about a place and another culture....and it's a great way to meet new friends :-D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A baby sea lion on the Galapagos Islands, which thought that I'm his mother and which sucked on my knees, looking for milk

Huayahuashtrek in Peru: 8 days - 110 km - 6 passes (4500 - 4700 m) - one mountain (5200 m)- great countryside ....and hot springs at 4250 m :-)

Machu Pichu with a lot of rain, and a lot of sun,....all on the same day :-)

The amazing flat area of the Salar de Uyuni Saltflat in Bolivia,...awesome!

The Moais of Ester Island,...mystical, stoic,..great!

Amazing hikes in Patagonia - Fitz Roy, Tores del Paine and the amazing Perito Moreno Glaciar

The biggest Waterfally on earth - the Iguazu Falls in Argentina
