About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I have been overseas since 1980 - left Scotland- teaching at International Schools. I love being overseas and like people. I have a yearning for South and Centra lAmerica - but maybe not live there but spent holidays there/

ABOUT ME

I am 55 - divorced and presently working in Bangkok at a teacher. After seven years, I've come to really like life here. Socially, I have many friends but it gets harder to forge true relationships. I do not ask for much in life, and really enjoy travel. I have places in Shanghai and in Thailand, and spend time in both places, though I am originally from Scotland. I am very talkative and friendly, and love eating out, movies, art, the theatre, etc. I co-own an art gallery in Thailand, and love when a new exhibition opens.

PHILOSOPHY

I smile every day of life. I feel lucky for being born into a well-to-do background. Because of that I appreciate every second of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a number of people in Shanghai, and have also just couch surfed (July) with several nice people in America. I will hit Guatemala soon, then back to LA, then back home (all July/August).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed with several people in the Los Angeles area. All very nice hosts.

Interests

Travel - Eating - countryside - other cultures.
I like people - and enjoy bringing laughter into thier lives. I want to travel more.
Only a few weeks ago, I found the musical RENT .
Wooooow, I loved it. Also saw Wicked while in LA, and loved it, too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In south China, I was with a minority tribe/ group called the Miow people. Saw a group of 6 / 7 year olds cooking their breakfast - rice - vegetables.
The scene was straight out of Oliver Twist - it was amazing. The smile on their faces was unforgettable.
