About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've been living in Chicago for the past 9 years and have been teaching after school and integrated art programs all over the Chicago area and now am looking for a new place to start my own art movement of sharing multiple art disciplinaries along with meeting new like minded people that have a vision of creating something bigger then us!
ABOUT ME

I am a drawer/ painter that became a hand made tile mosaic artist and now I do it all! I have been teaching art to youths as young as 5 to as old 90 years old and bringing communities together through my love for art.

I love to bike and be outside, I love gardening and taking care of animals, I currently have 3 beautiful kitty cats! Ive traveled to a few countries through WWOOFing, Airbnb and Couchsurfing. Traveling really brings life back into my life! Watching and learning how others live their lives fascinates and inspires me!

I currently would like to settle down, get a house and combine all the great methods of self sustaining and creative lifestyles into one place where I can live, make art and bring people from around the world in efforts of continuing my love of sharing. Doesn't that sound great?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe in the gift of giving and when we share our spaces, it the best way to be in the present moment without tainting it with money or the restrictions of society, to a certain extent ;).

Interests

I am a true artist where I am constantly creating. I love to sit in a tiny snug spot and doodle with a pen and paper. My next love would be water colors, moving onto acrylics and spray paint!
I started with ceramic hand building and then with the mosaicking i was creating with youths, I started getting into making my own hand built tiles and engraving mirror into mosaics.

I have also always been a physical person and love to go out for walks and bike rides, light hikes and playing in the creek. For the past 15 years I also have dived into various yoga techniques to further my own practice in Ashtanga, Bikram and Aerial Silks.

One thing that my mother and I always shared was gardening, especially vegetables. This is the reason I am looking for a house so I can have my own huge garden. I made a tiny one in front of my garage in Chicago, and its just not enough!

Another thing I also really enjoy is DIY building projects. I converted my own 1 car garage into a maker studio where I hosted my first youth program where we made permanent mosaic in my neighborhood. This studio has multiple stations ranging from, ceramic and mosaics, painting and drawing and a tool station. I also installed a small stage for music and open mic performances. This space only has electricity so I also created my own stationary sink with a cooler and a flower pot along with a hand build out house for the toilet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel that helping this cat I found on the street give birth to 4 beautiful kittens in my closet over the cold Chicago winters was an accomplishment I am honored to be part of. Watching them grow aloud me to not focus so much on myself and to just enjoy their company. They all survived and now have beautiful loving homes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I find philosophy to be a strong hobby of mine, in the sense I enjoy pondering and having enlightening conversation about it. And for the most part we both with leave feeling inspired!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with you all the cool projects I have accomplished and be great company for a chill evening.
