About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To build a home made with love and filled with joy.
ABOUT ME
My life is blessed and filled with amazing people. Paul and I are married with a little girl who rules the roost... I am a sociology major at uni and currently studying towards becoming a qualified early childhood educator... I believe in the power of one, empathy and love...Paul and I plan to dedicate our lives (when we grow up ;p) to aiding our people - education, health and youth work mainly.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that laughter needs to be practiced as often as possible and cuddles fix everything. Gratitude and Kindness can empower anyone and fill the world with the love it so desperately needs. All of this takes practice and hard work.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have been out of the couch surfing community for a while due to our living arrangement and having a baby, but some of my most favourite life experiences have been connected with couch surfing. We have hosted people in our little apartment, and been graciously hosted on our travels.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have hosted at our home and have surfed in Malaysia and Vietnam, and Argentina. Our hosts were amazing and they are firmly in our hearts. We have not only learnt about them but also about ourselves and the joy of sharing our cultures with each other has brought many laughs.
Interests
Beaches, bushwalking, birdwatching, being barefoot in the sunshine, beautifully illustrated childrens books that have heart. Love to have a boogie and Paul loves his food - ALOT!

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. Paul likes a korean war movie I can't remember the name of....
oooh music where do i start? Reggae soothes my soul and NZ music will always be on my playlist. Paul loves his music from the islands and anything that is good to boogie to :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Fallen in love ... and survived a consequence of that ... giving birth.
Teach, Learn, Share
My husband and I are from different cultural backgrounds (Samoa/NZ Maori) and we love to play 'how do you say this? What is your favourite food?' but what I love the most is hearing stories and learning songs and dances. (not that I can sing or dance but its fun). Stories (such as myths) give insights into traditional values and beliefs, I love hearing them. I even know a few myself.
Paul is enthusiastic about sharing his love for his home island of Samoa and gets a kick out of similarities between different languages and his. Culture and customs are important to us and we enjoy learning how others view the world through their own cultural identity.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We live in a tiny house on the beautiful island of Waiheke, on my parent's property. We are a close knit family and love sharing a laugh over a cup of tea.
