About Me

Currently travelling with my fiance, Sian, around South America. We left our jobs in London in September to travel - firstly in India and Nepal, and now in South America. Looking to meet new friends from around the world and improve our Spanish along the way.

Although I´ve been a member on couchsurfing since 2009, I´ve been unable to host or surf for a number of years, so I´ve only attended local events and hosted informally a few times. Hoping now to get more involved, meet new friends from South America and then hopefully have an apartment where we can host when we return home.

PHILOSOPHY

"life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

"A child that does not play has lost his childhood, an adult that does not play has lost the child within himself".

Enjoy the world and always keep learning!

Music, Movies, and Books

So many to mention, I love to listen, play and dance to music so it's a big part of my life. Ranging from stuff like Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Bowie and The Who to Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Jurassic 5, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The White Stripes and Primal Scream. Stuff I've been listening to recently includes Andreya Triana, Etherwood, Sbtrkt and Fink. Also love Salsa, a bit of house and drum n' bass - basically anything with a good beat, melody and soul.

Films: A few of my favourites: Almost Famous, Godfather triology, Tarantino films, Amelie, Alfred Hitchcock films, Usual suspects.

Books: A few of my favourites: The Godfather, Life of Pi, Birdsong, Driving Over Lemons, The Diceman, all the books by Khalid Hosseini - such an amazing author!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving over Lake Taupo in New Zealand was amazing. Sleeping under the stars in the Thar Desert, Rajasthan. Quitting our jobs in London and deciding to travel the world and meet new people has led to so many new amazing experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully some laughter and good conversation... Also we can cook some meals and help with learning English. Also I play guitar, so could help if you´re learning with that or enjoy a jam. Sian also plays the cello.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Fiji, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Jersey, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Panama, Scotland, Spain, Thailand, Wales
