Overview
About Me
I'm a young 37 year old who spent much of my early 20's travelling and after a fair few years trying to settle in Australia found myself struggling to do exactly that. At the end of last year I returned to Europe to mostly catch up on a lot of 'lost' time with family and recently found myself here in my partners country of origin France. Whilst rediscovering the older culture and all that goes with it, I've fell for the place and am now looking to relocate here for a longer period. Although travel is always somewhat on the agenda, I'm mostly limited to France and the UK of late whilst squeezing the odd road trip or quick weekend in when the rather demanding seasonal type work allows. Throughout upcoming festive period I'm hoping to spend what time I can with friends and family and continue struggling to get my French language skills up to a higher than survival level.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After many years travelling in the old fashioned way of guide books and guess work, I recently got back on 'the road' and learnt of this new method of getting around. Whilst piggy backing on my girlfriends account I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have had much joy arriving in places to meet friendly helpful folk whilst learning a variety of information from the destination and its host. When settling next time I also look forward to also hosting fellow travellers myself and put something back into this wondeful idea.

Music, Movies, and Books
A wide range of music but usually swaying towards (but not exclusively) the blues and rock based stuff of old as well as the Britpop stuff of the nineties which I grew up with. Bands such as The Who, Stone Roses, Supergrass, Doors, Small Faces, Death in Vegas, etc. etc. etc.
Enjoy nearly all movie genres or at least open to giving it spin. Those of true life or suprising finales tickle my fancy most and I am currently keen to learn much more about French film.
Travel stories and anything that educates are my prefered reads. Just finished- Way of the World- Nicolas Bouvier.
One habit of mine with all the above though is that I rarely quit any before the end, no matter how much I dislike it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting the far north of Qld, Australia which seemed more like jurassic park than the planet earth I'd previously known.
The most rewarding by far though, has been teaching english to the little people of various countries, cultures and backgrounds.
Teach, Learn, Share
What you know, more than that, all you can
