ABOUT ME

**I have been so slammed with work during the year, and traveling all summer so my CS life has been halted! Please feel free to shoot me a message if you need a place to crash for a night or five, I'll try and show you around if I can :)**

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." - Walden

This CS profile has brought quite a few great moments over the past few years. I'm an old school party kid with a love for all things music. I'm a life long learner with a love for language and have yet to stop learning.

So far on CS I've figured out a few things: I love the beach and the ocean, love to travel, and love to talk to people from all walks of life, all the time. I've currently spent the past year travelling, couchsurfing, and meeting people across the world. Great life, eh?

Life means a lot of things to a lot of people but I believe that love, logic, and life experience are the three principles that are securely cemented in who I am and who I want to be. Judgement has no place in my world as long as you try your hardest to benefit yourself and/or society. Selflessness in either aspect is accepted. :) Acceptance and drive will always reign first in my book.

PHILOSOPHY

"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods; / There is a rapture on the lonely shore; / There is society, where none intrudes, / By the deep sea, and music in its roar; / I love not man the less, but Nature more..." - Lord Byron

"Some people feel like they don't deserve love. They walk away quietly into empty spaces, trying to close the gaps of the past." - Into the Wild

"Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth." - Henry David Thoreau

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted Anthony on his way home to Mexico for two nights--we had an amazing time sightseeing in Dallas.

We met up with a few couchsurfers on Greenville one night and enjoyed Whiskey Bar and Sugar Shack until two o'clock.

Jane and I couch surfed in Jacksonville and had one of the best nights ever with some of the best surfers we have met.

We crashed with Marc in the French Quarter and he showed us things that made us fully appreciate him, CS, and the city.

Jane and I crashed with Michael in D.C. and had one of the best CSing experiences ever!

We hosted Jens and Tim for two nights while they were travelling from up North. We had a great time with them!

Hosted Mir and the band for one night while they were headed back from SXSW. It was short, but great!

Finally we hosted Kaitlin and a few from the roller derby team while they were passing through for a tournament.

C and I stayed with Stefan in Dussledorf for 1 night and saw the Rhine the best way possible.

We stayed with Sarah for two nights in Dussledorf and she helped show us Cologne as well as some awesome places to shop!

We stayed with Tomas in Prague and he pointed out a few places to visit...which ended us up at one of the best hole in the wall bars I've ever been to.

Neasa, Theresa, and Joe kept us alive in Dublin and we saw more in four days than we could have ever expected!

Interests

I love books, and travel, people and transcendentalism. I love teaching children--5 years old or 15 years old--and love learning anything and everything. I'm trying to say yes more, have a smile and positive outlook often, and laugh as much as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm an avid reader and have recently discovered my love for the New York Times Best Sellers List. I love movies--comedies are by far my favorite! I love dance music, hip hop, country, classic rock, jazz, opera--I can enjoy it all!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I zip lined over rock quarries and ravines in Puerto Vallarta, I've balanced on the edges of the Grand Canyon, I've traveled to Disneyworld by car and plane four times, and I've traversed through different parts of Europe during the Eurocup, spent a week on deserted beaches in the Dominican, and spent a summer on a ranch in North Texas.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a very particular set of skills...okay so I'm not Liam Neeson but I am an educator. I graduated college with an English degree and an education minor, am TESOL certified, and have a Masters in Special Education. Let me know what you need and I'm always open to help.

As for what I want to learn? Spanish, sign language, best ways to travel, the rail system, lol--a bit of everything!
