Artist, experimental photographer, sculptor, art writer. I make a living from my art and have both a commercial practice making casts of people's bodies and a fine art practice making meaningful, life changing installations. PHILOSOPHY

I try to tread gently on the earth. Not so easy when you use a load of nasty chemicals in your work! :( My art is what matters to me. I have to make things. Some of it is very political. I used to work in grass roots green organisations and on a peace boat. That experience certainly informs some of my work. On the other hand some of my work is purely self indulgent, whimsical or ridiculous!

I'm keen to learn new things. Travel is great because everything is new and you see the world with childlike wonder. That is real magic.

I am sober for many years which means I don't use alcohol or drugs :)

I have hosted and surfed and will do again in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first surfing experience with a lovely couple who have become great friends. We often visit with each other now. So that was good. I hosted someone for 10 days while they waited for university accommodation. We also became mates. It's a great way to make new friends.

Centres d'intérêt

As an artist I guess work and fun are pretty much the same thing. I travel a lot, I enjoy cooking and good food, I keep fit, write and run my businesses. I like to learn about new places and cultures, particularly art and food traditions of the places I visit.

I have worked on many big feature films such as Casino Royale.

I have sailed across the Atlantic.

I worked with 400 women on a single art installation. It became famous.

I'm collecting sand from every country in the world for a project so if you're coming to stay with me, please bring some (but microwave it first to sterilise it for biosecurity reasons).

I'm also working on a new project where I need one female model from each country in the world. Couchsurfing is a great way to ask people as they pass through the UK and many people have done it. If you think you might like to share part of yourself for the sake of art then ask me for more info! I'm absolutely genuine so only genuine offers please!
