About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travelling around the world for the 2nd time, learning about myself and the people of this planet. I'm exploring, adventuring and surfing. Now looking to get into couch surfing!

ABOUT ME

I'd consider myself very outgoing, willing to try anything at least once. I love to learn as much as I can about each place I go from a local's perspective, to really understand a new place. My interests are wide ranging, but primarily I'm a surfer, snowboarder, diver, trekker, climber and keen amateur photographer. I'm partial to getting stuck into any outdoor activity or extreme sport. I love meeting new people and understanding other cultures, religions (I'm not religious though I'm very interested in spirituality), beliefs, customs and societies is one of the most interesting things you can do in this world. The number of things you can learn in life is limitless and the best way to do that is by meeting new people in new places and understanding what they've already learned.

PHILOSOPHY

I consider myself rather deep and I find it hard to pick a personal philosophy as such. I believe in compassion and generosity, I've studied various religious philosophies, gone on Buddhist meditation retreats in India and lived in other temples, to try and better understand the world and us. One philosophy I've often lived by is this:

It's better to regret doing something, than to spend the rest of your days asking 'what if..?'

- unless it's morally reprehensible you should always aim to follow your heart or give it a go...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to this whole thing so am just finding my feet, but I'd love to meet other couch surfer's, experience the world from their perspective and share my experiences with them. I'm very outgoing and enthusiastic (this sounds like a dating profile right now!) and will put my all into each new meeting and experience to try and ensure we each take something positive away from it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Newbie!

Interests

Surfing, snowboarding, photography, rock climbing, SCUBA diving, cooking (I love to learn and cook recipes from all over the world), spirituality (I've studied various religions and traditions, I practice meditation and some yoga and have explored many perspectives of 'the path' with people I've met on my travels. Music, Movies, and Books

Too much to mention and growing by the day! I love to read practical books and philosophy but I don't mind a good bit of intelligent fiction. That and surfing magazines!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

10 day Buddhist philosophy and meditation retreat in Dharamsala, I learned more about myself and organised my ideas about the world far more in this 10 days, through teachings and meditation, than I've ever managed to do in the rest of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to share my knowledge of meditation, surfing, cooking (taken classes in numerous countries and continents and I really love to cook), music, photography (I'm no pro, but I know enough to help a lot of the people I meet) and anything else I can offer from my experience that may enrich someone else's life.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Cook Islands, Denmark, Fiji, France, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Morocco, Nepal, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
