About Me

Hi. Actually my born name is Trang /tʃaa(j)ŋ/, Jamie is the name I got for myself. But calling me either Trang or Jamie is always fine, feel free to choose which one you prefer.

I am from Bac Giang, 2 hours and a half by bus from Hanoi to the Northwest.
Having been a Couchsurfing member for 6 years changed my life significantly, because meeting people from different countries not only helped me know more about the world without traveling abroad, but also encouraged me to dream bigger, to travel further to see the gifted beauty in nature and human beings.
However the most important lesson I learnt from Couchsurfing community is to have more courage to befriend with strangers, to offer my help to them, and vice verse, to accept their helps when needed, as growing up I was taught that strangers are dangerous and it's safer to just communicate with our friends and acquaintances. That is patchy, because in the context of Couchsurfing, if you trust your intuition, you will never know that a lot of people are as kind as your family and you will never learn to be more generous and find the happiness in helping others. I actually have a lot of good and long-term friendship having started from Couchsurfing.

I traveled across Vietnam for almost a year once I no longer needed to pay my presence at my university, which was since my final thesis. I wrote a blog about every places I've been to till one day realized the falsity of words, I deleted the blog. Ironic to what is shown here in this profile! haha, I know. But I have to admit I always enjoy hearing stories of others' life told by themselves: where they've been to, why they are doing what they are doing, etc, like how Socrates met and talked to anyone he met, though I am definitely not merely even one 100th of his intelligence.
so if you've got one, please tell me, and please pardon me if I make endless inquiries. thank you in advance.

To end, I am currently living in Hanoi, basically living as an average person while often out of bless having found goodnesses. My job doesnt require much of time so I wonder why not spend some of my free time meeting travelers to Hanoi and sharing our stories, or maybe showing you guys around the city that I have been for 7 years and somehow feel home here?
I am looking forward to seeing you someday soon.
