About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be a stepping stone for people making it up to Northern Honshu and Hokkaido.
ABOUT ME
I've been in Japan for 6 years, traveling all over the place, living in three cities and working the ESL circuit. I've gone into business for myself, which is proving to be a good challenge and something fresh!
Hitting the great outdoors is occupation number two - snowshoeing, hiking, camping, you name it. I've hitchhiked allover the country yet find myself fixed in one spot as of late.
I'm a closet DJ, avid movie-goer and lover of all things adventurous. I'm currently on a mission making videos for Spin Magazine's SPIN EARTH project which aims at introducing local music scenes to the world. I'm constantly on the go, juggling this with that, but wake up each day stoked for what lies ahead.
PHILOSOPHY
To constantly be on an an adventure, learn, have fun, and grow.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hope to give people a glimpse into and appreciation of my second home, Japan - and hopefully get some insights into others lives here in return.
I must be truthful and say that there is a selfish-side to this exchange: in the future I am planning a cross-country trek and hope the contacts I can make now will help make this goal a reality. Yoroshiku!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Haven't had any as of yet, but hope to change that.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have to say that David Lynch's "Mulholland Drive" is probably my favorite movie. The Coen Brother's "No Country for Old Men" ranks up at the top, too. But you've got to give props to the old school fantasy stuff I was raised on too, and recognize "Lord of the Rings".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've hitchhiked from the bottom of Kyushu to Tokyo, being caught in Typhoons along the way and hiking some of the most lush forest islands out there down in Yakushima. Perhaps not the most amazing but it's what popped into my head now so there it is.
Teach, Learn, Share
What I hope to share the most is my appreciation and love for Japan, and for Sendai's community. Too many foreign people have moved out here only to have an experience leaving them less than satisfied and even bitter with it all.
Of course I also hope to exchange whatever interests and skills I may possess with the visitor - I have more music than I can count and who knows, maybe spending some time learning how to spin records could be fun, or perhaps learning the first steps of rock climbing at the local gym could prove interesting, or how about an afternoon doing some SLR photography in and around Sendai?
By introducing you to the friends I spend time with here in Sendai, as well, will undoubtedly prove to be an exchange in something or other. So many people on their own individual missions here - and doing it outside of the usual circuit, off the beaten path.
