Hi! I'm Jamie :) I am an American living in Vigo, Spain for the year. I'm spending a full academic year teaching English to primary school students and I love it! This is my first time in Europe, so I'm really excited to be here and travel to as many places as possible! Before Spain, I studied in Argentina for six months and had a blast. I speak English natively and Spanish as well, and I absolutely love having the opportunity to speak Spanish whenever possible. I also love books, movies, politics, a good beer or wine, and food. I'm also a huge fan of pugs, although I've never had one myself. They're just so goofy looking and adorable!

I'm new to couchsurfing, but I have been to some couchsurfing events, as well as used AirBNB and BlaBlaCar a lot and am happy to refer anyone to my profiles/reviews on there! :)

I'm on couchsurfing because I believe that there's no better way to experience a city than through the eyes of a local. You could go to Paris and see the Eiffel Tower, but only with a local's insight would you know that the best café in all of Paris is just a five minute walk away. I just love to meet people and explore new places, so why not combine the two? :)

兴趣

Like just about everyone, I love music, movies, and books. I also enjoy yoga and running, and I'm trying to learn to cook! I much prefer eating over cooking though ;) While it isn't everyone's favorite topic, I really love politics. I'm especially interested in EU and Latin American politics, but I know not everyone likes to talk about it :) I'm also really fond of drawing and can get lost in a sketch for hours.

I love to read (currently reading "Tubes: A Journey to the Center of the Internet" and "Un Juego de Tronos" in Spanish), watch any movie, and discover new music (I'm obsessed with George Ezra right now!). My boyfriend and I enjoy watching all of the Oscar-nominated films just before the awards show just so we can decide which ones we like best :)

I love to learn :) it's the one thing I never want to stop doing. I love learning languages, about politics, and any recipes that people want to share. I teach English, but I can also teach how to make a good fried egg sandwich :D
