ABOUT ME

Next month it will be three years since my first Couch Surfing party, and I've finally gotten the guts to make my own profile. (Thanks Phil!)

My name is Jamie. I am a non-working musician with a day job to pay the bills. I have decorated my cubicle in a style that I call "Granny Chic." My sewing and crafting skills are pretty good, so if I stay at your house I will be happy to sew the buttons back on your clothes or fix them up! :)

PHILOSOPHY

I work hard to live on the positive side of life because I know exactly what the negative side looks like. I've been there, and it ain't pretty. When you realize just how massively big the universe is, and that we're all just tiny little threads of the same organism, it's much easier to just relax and let the little things go.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I have an unhealthy obsession with international music. Nothing would make me happier than hearing about all of your new favorites and asking you a million questions about the music you listen to back home. Also, Die Heuwels Fantasties is my absolute favorite band in the whole wide world.

Movies: Comedy all the way! (With lots and lots of British TV)

Books: H.G. Wells, Kurt Vonnegut, Science Fiction, Harry Potter/Twilight/Hunger Games

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Israel we went to the Western Wall on a Friday afternoon at dusk, and I saw all of the families and kids in their best clothes getting ready for the Sabbath. One little kid was in a pressed collared shirt with curls eating chocolate pudding out of the cup with no spoon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like shy travelers. I like everyone, but I especially enjoy the ones who are in over their heads and have a good sense of humor about it. One day when I have enough money to travel, that will be me!
