About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to obtain a worthwhile life mission.

ABOUT ME

There's a fair amount I could waffle on about here, I would say that the strongest thing which defines me is that I don't feel particularly well defined. I lack a sense of personal identity. I'm forgetful. I think that's where the lack of identity comes from, I forget what I'm like. I would to take people on day trips around my brain, it's really quite an empty place. On more than a few occasions I've managed to forget the end of a sentence whislt still delivering the beginning of it. I would say I'm an outdoorsy hippy type trapped in a city kids body. I've worked at Fraser Lake for two summers now and feel most at home/content/satisfied being with trees, a lake, an absence of a mobile phone and internet. If I could live anywhere/do anything I'd live in a log cabin in the wilderness someplace with a beautiful wife, a big axe and some kind of hunting apparatus (i.e. bow/gun) and I'd be happy. Well at least when I imagine it...I may get bored after a couple of days. Who knows. I'd like to think my general approach to life is based on first time performance. I strongly dislike formal job applications/interviews as they seem utterly unnatural and contrived. I tend to write/express/do the first thing that comes into my mind without much fore/post thought, hence the rambley nature I imagine this description is starting to take on. There's a lot more I could say, but for the sake of your sanity I'll call it here.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel like life is a big fumbling in the darkness and noones yet turned on my light, but everyone else has headlights and is just getting on with it. I'm slowly building up a list of things I've learnt for myself that won't satisfy, such as wealth, popularity or success. I think I'm satisfied with the outdoors, at least for the time being, I'm sure that too will proove ultimately unsatisfying.

Interests

As I've already mentioned, I like being outdoors, which means I generally enjoy most outdoor activities like running/cycling/walking/most sports (at a very much casual level) if you know England at all you'll probably know how beautfiul the countryside is around Sheffield, I really enjoy cycling through it and tiny little villages with ridiculously small roads and pubs. Although I'm not that hardcore and don't particularly enjoy being outside whilst it's cold/rainy/overcast...hence jibbin off to Canada for a wee bit. I'm interested in travelling, I guess we can take that as red considering we're on CouchSurfing...

I love to snowboard and I'd love to try many other kinds of boarding (surf, wake, kite, mountain) if budget/circumstances ever allow. I'm afraid of heights...well afraid in the sense that they give me an adrenaline rush, which I love. Given the oppurtunity I would love to sky dive, bungee jump, go to space, shoot an automatic gun, go hunting, gut cook an eat what I hunt, chop through some rainforest with a machete...I realise these a no longer interests and more pipe dreams, but I'd like them to be true one day.

Music, Movies, and Books

I could list movies I love til the cows come home, let's go with three that immediately spring to mind...The Shawshank Redemption, Gladiator, The Darkknight...and A Beautiful Mind. Ok four, and maybe any others that spring to mind.

I'm a Physics graduate ergo I can't actually read (we're only allowed to read greek letters and numbers) but some books I like the covers of include anything written by Ted Dekker (Thr3e, Saint and the Circle trilogy).

Musicwise I'm that person you know with an awful taste in music, I probably like some music from every genre except hardcore screamo metal rock, it's a mystery to me. I guess my favourite genres are rock, R&B and sca.
