Hi! My name is Jan and I am a student from Germany. After finishing high school and doing an internship at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, I traveled through Southeast Asia for half a year.
Since 2016 I study Computer Science at the University of Bremen.

Travelling through foreign countrys is a great thing. Now I have the opportunity to travel half a year, to see so many things and get many impressions of other cultures and I love the idea of courchsurfing!
What I am looking forward to are the many people I am going to meet! I want to learn about the countrys from their inhabitants. I want to live the culture, not just observe! Instead of traveling from hostel to hostel I want to be a part of the country and I think couchsurfing is a great way to accomplish that :)

Interests

I love programming! From user computers to robots there is nothing I don't like to learn about! In the last few years my team partner and me attended several competitions and attended RoboCup in Mexico, Brazil and China. I guess that is where I smelled the air of foreign countrys. We have seen Mexico, Brazil and China and now I want more! :) Besides that I also play trumpet. Furthermore I love to go camping! In the last 12 years I attended every year the youth camp, the last two years also as youth leader.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love watching series and movies! As to call there are Braking Bad, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Fringe, The Simpsons... There are also many movies I like and have watched in the last time... Actually too many to list them here
Unfortunately I have not taken much time for reading in the last years, but I bought an E-Book Reader for my Travel and I love it. I am planning to read as much as possible and I think that I am a big fan of (Sciene-)Fiction Literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Doing the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal and going up to 5416 m was quiet amazing

Teach, Learn, Share

I think it is a big deal to have some special knowledge and I think giving this knowledge to other people is really really important (not just keeping everything for oneself to use it towards it's own benefit).
