Moin, I'm Jan from Hanover, Germany. I just recently finished my Bachelors degree and started working full time in IT / Business. I also just moved to my own place in Hanover so I want to start hosting people.

In my free time I play Badminton as well as hangout with friends and grab a beer or two :) I also REALLY like eating but I am not much of a cook myself. Therefore I like to grab food in the city or order something.
Currently my goal is to learn Chinese but I am struggling to get any further at the moment. Still working on it though.
Since I am at work during the week I can only spend time with visitors after 5 and on certain days not at all.
I do however want to get to know the people staying with me and spend the time I have with them.

In 2012/2013 I lived 10 months in Texas, USA and had a great time with my host family and friends. It was a great opportunity to become more independant and find friends for life.

I am new to the couchsurfing scene and have little experience with it so far. I am very excited, though to be part of this great community and I hope I will be able to have some great experiences and find some new friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I never want to spent vacations in boring hotels and get to know the city with an organized standard tourist tour. I really want to get to know the culture of the different countries in this world and get to know the locals.

I think couchsurfing is exactly the right tool to do so.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like all kinds of music. Rock, Pop, Alternative, Country, Hip-Hop, Kpop. Not a big fan of EDM however.

Movies: I'm always up to watch a movie. I especially like intriguing movies that do not necessarily fit the norm. The stranger the better. One of my favorite directors is Tim Burton.
I also really enjoy TV shows. Lately I have been watching plenty of dramas from around the world.

Books: I love to read. If its just for fun mostly Fantasy. I also enjoy reading some of the classics, like "The Great Gatsby", "Frankenstein" or "To kill a mockingbird."
