About Me

Hey! My name is Jan and I come from the beautiful city of Prague 🇨🇿 where I've also spent most of my life. I'm a 22-year-old student currently studying Computer Science at Charles University (also in Prague).

🤓💻 🧗🏼‍♂️🏊🏻‍♂️🏃🏼‍♂️🌲
Even though I'm quite nerdy (Don't even get me started on algorithms, linear algebra, and all that fun stuff.) and during the school year my natural habitat is the library I also love doing all kinds of sports. Specifically, I really enjoy climbing (outdoors/indoors/bouldering), swimming, and going out for a run. The more time I can spend outdoors the better!

✈️🇳🇱🇹🇷🧗🏼‍♂️🌞
When I have time, I love to travel wherever the wind takes me. This year I visited Amsterdam where my sister lives on a houseboat (isn't she cool?) and Turkey where we spent some time climbing with a bunch of friends and enjoyed the sun at times when we had none in Prague.

🇯🇵🌞🌸🌊🍣🥢
But my biggest traveling dream was always to visit Japan which will finally come true this summer and I can't wait to discover all the amazing places, learn about the culture and meet new people and hopefully make some lifelong connections! (And also, learn some Japanese as well because my skills now need lots of improvement.)

🤹🏼🎸🇩🇪🇯🇵
Besides what I mentioned I also like to juggle (yeah, like a clown!), play the guitar, and learn new languages (German, Japanese).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because people are awesome! I just love traveling, seeing new cultures, learning the basics of a new language, being totally lost somewhere where nobody understands me, and all the other fun things.

I am also planning to host once I will have my own living but now things are a bit complicated with living at a dormitory.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

🍂🌦️⛰️🏕️🐥
The West Highland Way: a 5-day hike through the beautiful nature and shitty weather of Scotland (survived 4 nights sleeping under a tarp!).

Teach, Learn, Share

🤹🏼🎸💸🇨🇿
I can teach juggling, basic guitar, some investing basics (stocks, crypto), Czech, English, or bad jokes. (Also can teach maths and programming but that's not something I would expect somebody to willingly undertake.)

🇯🇵🎹
Would love to learn Japanese, learn the basics of some musical instruments (piano, flute), cooking, or how to actually be funny.
