About Me

// in Japan from September 2019 till April 2020 //

I grew up in Duisburg (part of the Ruhrgebiet) close to the border to the Netherlands. During high school I went to live in Canada for a year. After graduating high school back in Germany I moved to Stuttgart to go to University there. I lived in Stuttgart for 2 years, then moved to Poitiers, France for about 7 months to finish my bachelor thesis. After my stay in France I moved to northern Germany (Kiel) , where I lived and studied for one year.
In 2018, I travelled through south america and met a few Wonderful and friendly People through Couchsurfing. In October 2018 I started my Master's studies in Stuttgart, Germany again, but staying in one place for a Long time just does not seem to be my Thing, so I decided to go to Japan for 6 months, where I am as of now.

Currently I am in Japan. Hoping to meet many great People here, just like I did in South america.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that staying with locals and getting to know the culture is very important in order to understand people and their behavior.
Getting to know new people is always interesting and fun.
I love sharing my knowledge, passion, favorite places, dishes and learning from other people's knowledge.

Interests

I'm a sportsperson. I play Volleyball, Basketball, badminton, ... I've participated in all kinds of sports and love to adventure new sports. Currently i love surfing, so i'm trying to go as often as possible.
I'm also a glider pilot (yep, I fly planes without engines ;))

I play the piano, guitar and drums and in general just love to make music of any kind - I'm always down to jam a bit :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing great stories. I can teach you some basic guitar/piano skills if you like.
Also if you're interested in surfing, I can talk you about the craftsmanship of designing and building a surfboard.
I definitely need to learn more languages. I like to get in touch with different cultures and learn from them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not a 5 star cook, but I would say I know how to cook, which is also just a great occasion to talk and get to know each other. Coffee / beer or wine is also always a great idea.
