Overview
About Me
Hi I‘m Jan from Switzerland. Born and raised in Winterhur, which is by Swiss standards a rather big city but compared to the cities in China or Japan nothing but a small village. I studied Architecture and graduated last summer. Thats when I figured out I‘m not yet ready to settle down and have a life working like crazy like most architects do. So I decided to work temporarily to save some money for this adventure! That’s why im here traveling with my best friend Ben around Asia for 6 months.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I look forward to meeting new people, having good conversation, learning about local culture, food, drink a beer or sake.
And most important having a laugh together!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like bands like Milky Chance and Parov Stelar. But there‘s a lot more in my playlist.
Since I have my ireader with me I can download books regarding the country I‘m in at the moment. I read a book about Russia and now I just started a book by Miyamoto Musashi.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the best experiences I‘ve had was a summer school in Mdabula, Tanzania. We were a group of architecture students helping to build low-cost houses made of rammed earth for the local community. We lived and worked together what gave us a strong bond.
Teach, Learn, Share
I hope you can surprise me with some tracks, movies or books you like. I‘m always open to finding new inspiration.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Since I renovated a house back home
in Switzerland I have hands on fixing things and can maybe give you some advises.
