About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover the world :)

ABOUT ME

Am a always optimistic person who loves to get to know new people, new stories and new cultures. I think at least my one year stay in Tanzania I'm adicted to that and always suffer from itchy feet.
But i also love to introduce people to my homecountry or actually the country I'm just staying. Making people feeling at home in a new environment is one of the best experiences :)

PHILOSOPHY

Just be Irie! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been a guest often to ohter places, of course not only via CS. I always felt very thankful for the many guestgivers and also i want others giving that experience :)

Or as Baden Powell said: "The most worth-while thing is to try to put happiness into the lives of others."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first Couch Surfing Experience was very funny. My Friend Wiebke organized the place and we were on our way to Tanzania on a stepover in Kairo for two days. We knew nothing much about the Town and just had an adress of where to go. We got into the Taxi with alot of Luggage (43kg per Person!) and had an hilarious ride through Kairo. As we arrived at the House, we were sourrounded by policemen... We were already worrying a bit as we got out. But the first thing the police man asked was: "Was the cap driver good?"
And this is how we arrived at a place of a very nice man from the US. We had a very pleasent stay with him.

But also the next experience just a few days later was a bit exciting. We never have been to Africa before, and Couchsurfing is what we did first in Dar. Meeting Point: A petrol station at the junction in Ubungo Area in Dar. The Taxi from the Airport left us there, but where was our host? Nowhere, so we were waiting with our luggage on the Station for some time, watching the things happening in this for us strange environment. After some time our host came to pick us and we were going with all our bags into a small bus for public transport till the Dar es Salaam outskirts. BLUSH! You could say, CS was throwing us into the african reality immediatly. That was great! Thanks! :)

Interests

New people, good conversations, photgraphy, waterskiing, slackline, CLIMBING!

Give me some time alone for thinking and regaining energy, but company and other social interaction are things i need for living like the air to breeze.

Music, Movies, and Books

Everything with deep and intensive stories. Like "The Lord of the Rings" or the saxon warrior series written by Bernhard Cornwell. Also Ken Follet is creating very nice novells. Of course not very deep, but very intensive!

For Movies, action is fine. But also here the intensive stories are the best, for example "Schindlers Liste" or "Band of Brothers"

But hey, why is CS not asking for Computer Games? People are playing them! Me too! There are a plenty of good german pc games like "Gothic", "The Settlers" or "Anno" i love very much. But also the "Command and Conquer" Series is nice or for the bang boom bang inbetween its Call of Duty.
