About Me

I grew up in Czech Republic and at age of 20 I relocated to the USA. Originally for 1 year. But I met my (now) husband and long story short, here I am, in California and together we have 2 beautiful girls. I have to admit that local weather sure beats Czech ;)
I found my passion in baking. It keeps me happy and busy. I like to share too so if you come in the right time you may sample some European goodies :) I'm pretty shy but once I warm up I'm very talkative person. I'm artsy, crafty, I love to explore new and discover what life has to offer. Girls share my passions and I teach them to live the life to the fullest just like I try myself. Since they were 5 years old, we were doing road trips and we saw bunch of places and experienced unforgettable. Our favorite is when we picked up the hitchhiker in Grand Canyon and found out he was Native Indian and he told us lots of cool stories and even sang for us!

I'm happy to host people for 1-2 nights, might consider more after I get to know them. If you request more nights without any explanation I will deny your request

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One globe and yet millions of unique places and tons of different cultures. I love to travel and see new places, experience different customs and hopefully meet new friends.
Through different program we hosted people from different countries (China, Japan, Spain, Saudi Arabia etc) for past 13 years and almost all of them were very positive and rewarding experiences

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite author is Wilbur Smith. He writes novels exclusively about Africa and thanks to him the Serengeti trip became #1 item on my bucket list. One day... one day... it will happen :)
List of movies is too long. As long as there is good (or funny) story, I'm all for it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Everybody has their "amazing" in different way...
I came to the USA with $50 in my pocket and I survived.
I have 2 wonderful kids that follow what I taught them- don't destroy what you didn't create.
I own mostly the shelter animals that would be otherwise slaughtered.

Is it amazing? Not sure. I try to make the difference that others talk about. One step at the time...
