About Me

My name is Jana and I'm from Germany.

I am 25 years old and just finished my Studies in International Cultural Business Study in the small rural town of Passau in Germany right next to the Austrian border. I grew up in a small village close to Freiburg and the black forest. My parents own a small vineyard so naturally, I'm interested in wine and local alcohol. Currently, I live and work in Essen.

I am very interested in learning about new cultures - preferably through traveling and meeting new friends from different cultural backgrounds. I'm a big foodie, so I'm always looking for good local food recommendations and I'm also interested in learning about history, music, etc...

I would describe myself as a very open-hearted, empathic person, but I'm not a big fan of going to clubs. I prefere relaxing places maybe with good live music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling on a budget while meeting new friends around the globe, all while having a good time and sharing nice memories, brought me to couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I watch and listen to everything if I'm in the mood.

I love reading. I read everything I can get my hands on, starting with fantasy, romantic novels, thrillers, comics, mangas...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was traveling with my friend in the countryside and we were walking to the bus station, which was quite a bit away to get back into the city. Two older people in their car drove past us, stopped, and asked us where we were going. We talked a bit (with google translate) and they offered us to drive with them, as they were going in the same direction.
I first thought they meant the bus station but they drove us all the way to the city, stopped on the way for refreshments, and even offered us dinner.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like cooking and baking, so if you are interested I can show you some German dishes. Also, I love trying local food, so I'm always happy to get food recommendations I should try.

I'd like to share experiences, talk about culture, interests, daily live etc..
