About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life. To learn enjoying even most boring, hard or bizarre experiences.

ABOUT ME

Well, sometimes people are telling me I'm crazy. I don't know why they are doing that, but if there is more than one who think so, probably it's true :) And I don't mind it :)

In reality, I'm just a nice person who tries to enjoy life, people around me and things I do. And I love to dance. That's when I get weird, but hopefully at least funny, so that others can enjoy that..

Please, don't expect me to be the best guide ever as I'm not. I sure know some places, but I'm pretty bad at history, years and stories. If you need that - google and tourist guides will help you much better than me :)

PHILOSOPHY

You have to enjoy everything what happens to you. Even most bizarre experiences are smth that are needed for you to become the person you are. Just be sure to accept it and enjoy it. And not stress about things you can't change. Of course, if you really can't change them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting & surfing. Enjoying most of it and doing my best to help others enjoy it as much as I do

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Great experience both hosting and surfing. I would never be able to meet so many interesting, different and at the same time similar people other way.

Interests

Above all - people and traveling is what keeps me going. Need to visit new place at least twice a year.. crazy..
Reading - Murakami used to be my favourite. Though at the moment I've switched to more social science books. Maybe because I run out of Murakami. And I love to read at least 3 different books at a time. Right now I'm in the middle of 6 :)
Action - dancing, sports (tennis, wake-board, snowboard, cross-country skiing, biking, hiking etc.)
Trying new things, sometimes crazy - scuba diving, I have skydived and tried bungee jumping although don't think will do it again. But have to try almost everything. And it's hard for me to stay at one place ' doing nothing', but i'm working on patience :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots, lots, lots.
I read a lot. Lately Murakami. But as I've run out of Murakami books, I'm in the search of another favorite.

Listen to music a lot. Although I have some memory problem - can't remember band names and songs.. But at least some have stayed there: James, Dave Matthews, Morcheeba, Lykke Li, Manic Street Preachers + latvian bands like Brainstorm, Hobos, Hospitāļu iela. And I appreciate a lot if my CS friends suggest me some of their local, favourite bands - my music collection is really random and somewhat strange. And I like it that way. :)

Movies? Different kinds of, except horror movies and those stupid Hollywood cliche movies. But the worst ever are those unbelievably stupid comedies coming from Hollywood.
There are a lot of really good movies in the world. I guess my favourite at the moment is 'Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring'

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kissing dolphin was nice experience :) Then also skydiving - forcing myself to jump out of the plane - it was amazing. Still can't figure out why I did it. And of course, can't miss mentioning surviving hike in Dolomites with Francis - that was almost unbelievable.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm trying to learn Spanish and eventually also German. So any help on that would be appreciated :)

Teach? Russian, Latvian (but I wander, who would ever want to learn that?). Well, I can also teach some belly dance or latvian folk-dance moves - if not very useful skill, but at least funny process :)
