ABOUT ME

We've been moving about a bit over the last few years... moved to Grenoble from Australia (Tasmania) at the end of 2009, and had a great time skiing, hiking and climbing in the beautiful mountains that surround the city. Ella has been in Kuching, Borneo for work for the last 2 years, while Jan has been back and forth between Sydney and Kuching. Just about to start a new adventure in the UK - has been a bit tricky hosting people with all this moving around, but we are looking forward to settling in to England and meeting some more couch surfers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All good so far... Had a fun surfing Akos' couch in Budapest and have had some lovely guests in Grenoble. We loved meeting the fun and friendly CS group in Kuching, and have been lucky enough to host some great surfers in Southampton recently - can't wait to do more!

Interests

We really love to cook - and eat, of course! At the moment we especially like cooking North African, Lebanese and Turkish dishes... just bought a brilliant new recipe book of food from Jerusalem and are excited about giving that a try. Have also been inspired recently by the Great British Bake Off to make more cake! After talking about it for a long time, we have finally started a recipe blog - a collection of all our favourite things to eat. It has a rather literal name: http://ellaandjanliketoeat.blogspot.co.uk/

So in addition to making new friends, discovering new recipes and food traditions is another lovely aspect of couch surfing for us :-)

We also love travelling, cinema, a drink with friends, mountain sports, strolling around cities, Amnesty International, coffee, markets, beaches, a good book and a nice cup of tea...
